shop update

I haven't done an update on all the goodies being added to the shop in awhile. I've been busy busy busy crocheting up a storm. Slippers, headbands, bookmarks, and more are all being added to the shop almost daily!

Recently added to the shop is this pair of mary jane slippers. They are crocheted in a variegated green color that inspired their name: Mint Mojito. It's the perfect color for a pair of comfy spring house shoes & that's what you'll find with these slippers. Those and several others (including some old favorites like Sunburst and Cotton Candy) are now available in the shop and I have some more on the way! You can see all of my handmade mary janes by clicking here.

I have also been working up a storm on my increasingly popular three strand headbands. I have added more with a detachable flower pin (like the one pictured here) & a new style that has alternating colors of the strands. They are both selling really quickly. This black one has been a very popular choice & I'm constantly having to make more to replace the inventory.

New colors along with classics like Midnight Black, Espresso Brown, and Cornflower Blue are stocked up in the shop now.

What I love about these headbands is they have a classic style - inspired by the always fashionable Greek goddess look. You can wear them in more than one way, however. You can customize the flower and create fun color combinations (alternative flowers are also available in many colors for only $2.50!). You can wear them further back on the head for a classic look or can wear it further forward on your forhead to produce the popular bohemian look. Wear it your way depending on your mood!

You can see all my headbands in my shop now!

taking it forward.

Lately new ideas for headband styles have been taking up most of my time. I always try to rework things to see how far I can go creatively with a single idea. And thanks to some inspiration sparked by my friend Fran (who has a wonderful embroidery shop that you really need to check out) I've come up with some new ideas for my original three-strand headband.

Fran was really instrumental in the construction of the braided headband I've developed. It's three strands like the other headbands, all a single, different color braided together to produce a very clean, sophisticated look. Playing with color combinations has been a lot of fun and I'm really looking forward to trying out a few more. I've already got a couple braided headbands listed in both the Artfire and Etsy shops.

Another look I've been playing with this weekend is similar to the original three-strand look, but plays with more color. These headbands have been designed to have a playful but clean look. The colors of the headband alternate with the middle strand being a separate, matching color to the outer bands. The combinations for this design are endless (well, it would be if my yarn supply was endless. A girl can dream.). I think it is definitely a playful look, yet still sophisticated because of the slightly muted color combinations that are both great for us "grown-ups" and kids, alike.

These redesigns come just in time for Mother's Day, too. I think these headbands would make fun, handmade gifts for moms of any age! And custom orders are always welcome should you have a specific color combination you'd like to see. Want to use Mom's favorite color? No problem! And for $7 a pop you can afford to buy a little gift for yourself, too.

All my headbands can be found on both Artfire and Etsy. Be sure to order soon to guarantee items arrive in time.

small redesign.

New headbands! In bright, new colors! With bright, colorful flowers. These, and several more are available now both in the Artfire shop and on Etsy. Or shop now, below, directly from this page.

I've really enjoyed working on my new collection of headbands, but as with everything I start to tweek my designs a bit to play with new ways of working it. Working on getting the exact look I'm going for. With these new headbands, I've done a tiny bit of a redesign. The bands of the headband are now skinnier. I've decided to go with this look over my wider design because to me this one looks more like the Greek goddess design that first inspired me in the concept of these headbands.

What do you think of the slight redesign? Can you even tell anything has been changed?

And one more little reminder - I have set up a new mailing list for Broken Hallelujah Accessories fans! Receive updates on new items and special discounts! Sign up now using the form in the sidebar.

button up!

This headband is one of my newest in the shop. It's experimenting with a new design that was suggested to me by my friend at LaDeDaCreations. Be sure to check her out because as you can see she has some fabulous ideas! She not only came up with the idea of putting buttons on the headband, but also figured out that you could wear the headbands as cute, funky chokers! I just love that the headbands can be used in more than one way and look totally fabulous.

Another idea that is new in the shop is that of interchangeable flower pins for the headbands. Each headband will still come with a matching flower pin, but now customers have the opportunity to purchase individual flower pins in their favorite colors to ultimately customize their headband and create their very own look. Plus, the pins also look great on blazers, blouses, hats, scarves, bags, and as little additions to gift bags. They have a plethora of uses that adds a colorful, handmade touch to anything you apply them to. They can also be seen in the shop now with many more colors coming soon. Of course, custom colors are always welcome!

All in all, there's tons of fun goodies being added to the shop all the time, so be sure to check us out!

summer lovin.

Click the picture for more information on headbands available at Broken Hallelujah Accessories.
These headbands and more are now listed in my etsy store for only $5-$6 plus shipping. A great new accessory for spring, headbands add flair and style to any outfit while being a cute functional way to keep hair out of your eyes! Plus, if you buy handmade you'll find patterns and styles not offered in any store and quality to match. I've ordered more headband bases so there will be more patterns and styles coming soon. I am so in love with the warm weather that has finally arrived. But I still love walking around in my favorite pair of mary jane slippers. My feet get so cold at night and I just can't sleep when I'm cold, so these slippers are life savers. Plus, they are great and easy to slip on when I'm running outside to get something out of the car quickly. If they get dirty, I just toss them in the washer and they are ready to go again! So don't forget about Broken Hallelujah's great mary jane slippers. Offered in a variety of fibers and any color in the rainbow - plus I take custom orders for no extra charge.
One of my most popular colors available now!

leap into spring with style!

New at the Broken Hallelujah shop: headbands! A great way to make any outfit flirty and fun, these wide headbands are making a comeback and Broken Hallelujah is your place to get your original and one of a kind headband you won't find in any commercial store! Click the picture for more details. This headband is the first one in my store. I have a couple other 2 inch ones made up already and I'm going to work on 1 inch ones tonight so that I'll have goodies to list all week. I'm also selling some of my jewelry supplies that have just been sitting in the dorm all year never being used. I'm really trying to use up/sell a lot of this stuff in the next month before I have to move out - so help me out!
